Remedy Healthcare UK

Remedy Healthcare was established in 2017 to bring expertise found only in the military to civilian patients following musculoskeletal trauma. This military model has since informed the NICE Guidelines for optimal treatment.

It is their mission to make these services accessible to all, by allowing the >20,000 new trauma patients per year to access specialist rehabilitation unavailable through statutory services, therefore providing essential input to both patients and an overstretched NHS.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your questions about prosthetic rehabilitation, answered:

Your case manager, our prosthetists, and rehabilitation specialists will work together to create a completely bespoke treatment and rehabilitation programme to best suit your needs and goals. If you require round-the-clock care due to the complexity of your injury, residential rehabilitation will likely be the best option for you. However, if your amputation doesn’t significantly increase your risk of further injury, or you have additional support in the home, a course of in-clinic rehabilitation sessions will be most beneficial to you and your care.

Your prosthetic care programme will be designed by your case manager (if applicable) and your LPC prosthetist. If they collectively agree that the complexity of your injury requires around-the-clock care, you will be eligible for residential rehabilitation. You can also self-refer if you feel you would benefit from an increased level of care. Referral information can be found here.

Of course, in fact, we recommend it! Friends and family can often help by providing additional physical and mental support during your stay.
