Hayley Ginn
Running Coach
A former Middle-Distance Runner herself, Hayley Ginn has over 20 years of coaching experience, ranging across Athletics, Strength, Conditioning and Fitness. She has a growing portfolio of successes, which include working with clients who have some very complex needs, including Amputees, Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Injuries and those with Visual Impairments. She has been Head Sprints Coach at Cambridge University since 2008 and will lead the Cambridge team into battle with Oxford for her 18th successive Varsity Match in May 2025.
Hayley’s first taste of coaching amputees began when she was given the opportunity to coach Jonnie Peacock. She nurtured him from beginner to European Record holder over a period of 2-3 years and was pivotal in his preparation for winning Gold at London 2012. Hayley is also the former coach of T64 100m & 200m World Record holder Richard Browne Jr. who relocated to the UK to train under her tutelage and whose records currently remain unbeaten.
In 2014, Hayley was selected as Head Track Coach for the very first Invictus Games. Working with a wide range of injured service men and women, Hayley coached the very first Gold Medallist of the Games. She also travelled out to Orlando for the same role in 2016.
As part of the legacy of London 2012 and extensive volunteer work with charities such as LimbPower/PORT ER, Hayley recognised there was a need for her bespoke services. In 2013, Hayley left British Athletics and founded Carbon Motion. Her mission is to provide specialised coaching, mentoring and support to lower limb amputees of all abilities. She currently travels the country working privately with Insurance Companies alongside Case Managers, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nutritionists/Dieticians and Psychologists to provide bespoke 121 training and rehabilitation for their clients on a regular basis. She also works closely with Prosthetic Clinics to help guide and set up prosthetics appropriate for various physical activities.
