Meet Danny, a Senior Prosthetist at the London Prosthetics Centre (LPC) who manages the prosthetic care of clients attending the clinic from across the UK and overseas. Danny has built an impressive career from his early days training in South Africa to leading complex cases here in London. Whether it’s embracing new technologies, supporting clients through life changing treatment, or shaping the future of services at LPC, Danny’s work reflects a commitment to innovation, empathy and excellence.

Early Life and Career

From a young age, Danny has been a hands-on person with a strong interest in the medical field. Growing up in a small town in South Africa, his first exposure to the profession began in a private practice, where he would assist the technicians, actively building parts for prosthetic sockets and developing his practical skills. This experience gave him an early insight into the patient journey and what clients experience during treatment – it was from there that his path to becoming a clinician began.

Danny completed his studies in South Africa to become a certified Prosthetist and Orthotist in 2013. Over the next nine years, he worked in a variety of settings to expand his experience, knowledge, and professional network in the field before seeking further opportunities for career progression.

Feeling as though he’d hit a bit of a ceiling, he made the bold decision to pack his belongings and move to the UK, and he hasn’t looked back since!  Danny began working as a clinician within the NHS in London before eventually joining the LPC family as a Senior Prosthetist. Today, he is a highly-skilled prosthetist, consistently receiving outstanding feedback from his loyal clients and he continues in his search for more, bringing innovative ideas to benefit the whole team.

Working at LPC

Being a full-time Senior Prosthetist at LPC, no two days are ever the same for Danny. In early 2025, the LPC team were tasked with moving to a brand-new facility, Danny saw this as an opportunity to learn the ropes from his other colleague, Abdo Haidar, observing how he managed the demands of a fast-paced environment while making no compromise to the high standard of client care he offers. “No two days are ever the same at LPC”, Danny says. “You never know what to expect when you walk through those doors every morning, but because we’re a strong team with big personalities, we work together seamlessly.

Since joining, Danny has taken the lead on many complex cases and challenging prescriptions, ensuring every client has the best chance at living their life as independently as possible. His approach is deeply client-centric, always going the extra mile to tailor solutions to each individual's needs. “I’ve always been a compassionate person”, he explains. “It’s so important to take the time to really understand what a client’s needs are and what they want to achieve in life. Being both professional and personal matters, because the relationship that you’ll have with that person could last a lifetime”.

LPC is dedicated to delivering holistic, client-focused prosthetic care and rehabilitation. As part of a small, multidisciplinary team, Danny collaborates closely with colleagues to manage even the most complex cases. “What makes us pretty unique is that we’re a really small, dynamic team,” Danny says. “We’re not a company that pushes a certain target; our top priority is always the needs of the client, taking on any challenge and helping all clients to the best of our abilities. This is what sets us apart from other prosthetic providers.

Looking at the Future of Prosthetics

As technology in the prosthetic industry continues to evolve, more products are becoming available to help even more clients than ever before. Danny stays informed by discovering new innovations through his LinkedIn network, and with online training readily accessible, he can learn anytime, anywhere. His most recent certification covers a new orthotic technique that may soon be introduced to the clinic - watch this space!

With many plans in the pipeline for LPC, including new collaborations with trusted rehabilitation partners Home Rehab Therapists and Christa Wright, Danny expressed how excited he is for the future. “The move to a larger building with more facilities means we can create a bigger focus on each individual client. And with all these new projects going on in the background, it’s a very exciting time for the business. I can’t wait for the future!
