Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is an important source of support for clients following amputations.
Our occupational therapists specialise in working with amputation recovery, helping our clients to restore a reasonable level of independence.
Our occupational therapists are happy to asses you at our clinic, within your home or in a community setting.
Below are some of the ways our occupational therapist can help:
Teaching new techniques and strategies to become independent with personal care and hygiene
Providing advice on large items of equipment such as wheelchairs or comfy seating
Discussing home modifications
Discussing returning to work and hobbies
Advice about vehicles and adapted driving options
Using public transport and community facilities such as supermarkets and cinemas
Building confidence
Occupational Therapists are an essential part of the multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team. We can work on shared rehabilitation goals in a holistic way to ensure patients return to meaningful occupations outside the clinic and, crucially, in their own homes, communities and environments.
If you would like to contact us regarding occupational therapy, or our rehabilitation services as a whole at the London Prosthetics Centre, contact us
